Beware of Those Who Invoke The Name of God For Their Cause!

Gentile Readers,

I am a Christian conservative who thinks for himself. I have voted for liberal, moderate, and conservative candidates. I do not always agree with their complete agendas, but I can think for myself and do not need to blindly follow those who try to manipulate me and others with some noble cause. Especially if I believe that they do so for self-serving, hidden agendas.

I am really disappointed when people try to manipulate others for any reason, but I am crushed when people for whom I have respect, Use God as the tool for that manipulation. On Saturday August 28, 2010, some people I have strongly supported stooped to doing just that.

God's word tells us to beware of false prophets, love all people (even our enemies), and to measure the truthfulness of a person's words by testing it against the word of God. We need to really focus on these things.

As you examine the rhetoric of candidates, activist, and public figures who have access to mass media, check it and see if it squares with God's word. Also ask yourself why these people are promoting their cause. Their public agenda will be hard to miss, but ask yourself if they might have a private, selfish motive.

We should all be careful to put our faith in God, not people. Avoid being manipulated! Seek the truth! Think for yourself!

If you do not believe in God, then kindly disregard this message.
